The Phoenix Theatre @ UVic Summer Camps are an exciting collaboration between the Department of Theatre and Vikes Camps, offering young people creative, confidence‑building experiences in acting, movement, storytelling, and ensemble work. Supervised by Dr. Sasha Kovacs, these camps bring together theatre educators, emerging artists, and community partners to create a supportive environment where imagination and performance thrive. Each year over 200 campers participate in this enriching theatre learning experience.
The program also provides important skill‑building employment opportunities for UVic Theatre students, who gain hands‑on experience in teaching, leadership, and arts programming while mentoring the next generation of performers. Through this partnership, Phoenix Theatre and Vikes Athletics work together to deliver high‑quality arts education that strengthens community connections and supports student development.
