Brief Biography
Robin Evan Willis is an actor, educator, and Registered Clinical Counsellor. Her acting credits include Elsa Schraeder in The Sound of Music and Carrie Pipperidge in Carousel at the Stratford Festival; Glinda in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Wizard of Oz for Mirvish Productions and its North American tour; and five seasons with the Shaw Festival, where her roles included Diana Lake in French Without Tears, Anya in The Cherry Orchard, Ellie Dunn in Heartbreak House, Anne Egerman in A Little Night Music, and Venus in One Touch of Venus.
Robin holds a Master’s degree in Musical Theatre from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and a Master’s in Counselling Psychology: Art Therapy from Adler University. She has taught acting, text, and performance at Sheridan College, the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Queen’s University, and the Canadian College of Performing Arts, as well as through the Shaw Festival’s education program.
In her clinical practice, Robin specializes in supporting artists with the emotional and psychological demands of careers in the performing arts. She is a member of the Integrated Support Team at Bard on the Beach, where she provides counselling to the company’s actors and crew. She also writes In the Wings, a column for Psychology Today exploring the intersection of mental health and the performing arts.
