Construction & design standards

These standards convey the standard of quality and performance required by UVic for the design, construction or renovation of buildings and infrastructure on campus. They're intended for:

  • architects
  • engineers
  • contractors
  • other design professionals

Contractors and other firms working at UVic must adhere to these standards in addition to applicable laws, bylaws, building codes and regulations. They don't relieve or diminish any professional responsibility, standard of care, duty or due diligence owed to UVic.

FITS

Our facilities and infrastructure technical standards (FITS) dictate building and infrastructure standards unique to the UVic Gordon Head campus. All professionals providing consulting and constructions services to UVic must follow FITS.
