Performing maintenance at BC's largest wind farm

Absaar Arshaad Chougule

Borea Construction

"I’m headed towards turbine #32 at BC's largest wind farm to perform a regular maintenance check while the sun is rising in Tumbler Ridge.

My job title was construction engineering coop student where I was tasked in assisting the management team when it came to management, quality and safety. I was mainly working with the electrical and civil team where I had to keep track of schedule of all trades and coordinate the drawing specifications with the electricians. I also got the opportunity to acquire some hands-on skills for splicing high voltage cables and construction work."

  • Co-op position: Quality control engineer
  • Employer: Borea Construction in Tumbler Ridge, BC
  • Favourite part of my co-op: "Seeing all 61 turbines start spinning after solving all maintenance problems."
  • Most important thing I learned: "Team work and project management."
