Jan 26: Diversity and inclusion in the workplace
With current EDI trends and the needs of the changing workforce, many employers are adopting equitable hiring practices and human resources policies as strategies to recruit and retain talent. Join this workshop to add the EDI lens to your career development tool kit. In this session, our EDI team at Career Services will work with you to explore:
- Why is equity, diversity and inclusion important at work
- Elements of a healthy work culture
- What is an equal opportunity employer
- Ways to find companies that value diversity

Do you self-identify as a member an underrepresented group and wonder how, when, and if to approach self-identification in the job search?
Hear from a panel of inclusive employers about how they've integrated accessibility into their business operations and how to identify if an employer is committed to accessibility and inclusion.
You'll learn:
- Ways to identify inclusive employers
- Your rights at the various stages of the application process
- Pros and cons of self-identification
- How to approach an accommodation request
