UVic offers a range of career support programs to help you find a job you love.
Career exploration
Career Clarity is our free online program that will help you:
- generate career ideas
- use online resources to research possible career paths
- arrange and conduct in-person informational meetings
- decide on the next steps in your career
Program format
Career Clarity runs online through Brightspace each term. The program is 6 weeks and you can expect to work on it 3-5 hours each week.
You'll work through a series of exercises and assignments on your own and participate in online discussions with a career educator and other participants.
You can also meet with a career educator 1-on-1 to review your progress.
How to register
- Complete the Career Clarity application.
- Send it along with a copy of your résumé.
The next program begins on May 1, 2023.
If you're a current student, you can sign up for a Counselling Services career group (offered in conjunction with co-op and career) that's focused on career exploration and more.
Job Search Club
Program information
The Job Search Club is a new program for international students planning to work in Canada after graduation. Preference will be given to those in their final term or year of studies. Applications must be received before January 31, 2023 in order to be considered.
This program aims to create a community for international students to gain supports and build resiliency during their career development journey in Canada via bi-weekly 1-hour in-person meetings between February 3 and March 31 with career educators, fellow students, inclusive employers, and international student alumni to:
- Develop a personalized work search strategy
- Increase confidence in navigating career challenges
- Gain a deeper understanding of the transition into Canadian workplaces
- Build personal and professional connections with other international students on campus and employers looking for talent with international pathways
- Learn about resources and career supports available through Career Services and on- or off-campus/community partners
In-person meeting will take place at noon from 12pm to 1pm on the following dates: February 3rd, 17th, March 3rd, 17th and 31st.
Program eligibility
To participate, you must be:
- A UVic international student on a study permit
- Registered as a part-time or full-time student in an undergraduate, graduate or Continuing Studies Diploma or Certificate program in the spring 2023 term
- Aiming to work in Canada after graduation
- Committed to dedicating 2 hours every week to the Job Search Club, including 5 one-hour bi-weekly in-person meetings and some take-home activities.
Registration
Complete the expression of interest form by January 31, 2023.

Mock MMIs
Mock Multiple Mini Interviews are practice interview, coaching and feedback sessions designed to help you prepare for the medical school application process.
These group sessions include a mock interview and feedback/coaching.
