Mearns Centre for Learning-McPherson Library

In 2023, UVic Libraries worked with artist and Master Printer Jacob Dundee Appleby Maddison to establish UVic Libraries’ Book Arts lab on the lower level of the Mearns Centre for Learning - McPherson Library. The newly established teaching space provides hands-on, dynamic learning opportunities with contemporary and historical book arts equipment, and information technologies more broadly.

To date, the lab has offered themed workshops for selected holidays and events, select classes for faculty and students, and an Introduction to Letterpress workshop through Continuing Studies.
