Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) helps ensure you are the only person who can access your account by verifying your identity with a second factor using a hardware device in addition to your username and password.
UVic MFA is 2-step verification for NetLink IDs. It is an additional security capability that individuals can opt into to protect accounts and information from unauthorized access.
The process is simple, fast, and secure.
When enrolled and used with a MFA enabled system, individuals will be prompted for additional verification after they provide their passphrase.

How do I access this service?
Enrolment and management of UVic MFA is available through Online tools for all employees and students.
What is the cost for this service?
This service is provided free of charge.
There may be a cost to purchase a hardware token if that is preferred over the mobile app.
When is this service available?
This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, except during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. You can be informed of service interruptions by subscribing to Informed.
