How is AI a good thing for humanity?

Ji Won Suh, assistant professor, Department of Geography:

"AI should be considered a good thing for humans because it dramatically increases efficiency, allowing people to complete tasks faster and focus more on creativity, critical thinking, and higher-level decision-making."

"AI also plays an important role in lowering language barriers—not only between spoken languages but also in programming languages. Tools that translate across languages help people communicate and collaborate globally, and AI-assisted coding lowers the entry barrier to programming. This means that individuals who may not have formal computer science training can still bring their ideas to life, turning concepts into real applications with the support of AI."
