First Year Fridays
Every Friday from 12 to 3 p.m. in the Student Life Hub
Looking to meet people, discover campus resources, or simply take a break between classes? First Year Fridays is a weekly drop-in series created just for first-year students.
No registration is required; simply drop in whenever it fits your schedule. The Student Life Hub is located in the Jamie Cassels Centre, next to Mystic Market.
Every Friday is a different activity —from crafts and games to snacks, campus partners, and fun activities that help you feel more connected to the UVic community. Activities may include:
- Arts and crafts
- DIY projects
- Cultural celebrations
- Therapy dogs
- LEGO building challenges
- Trivia and games
- Wellness activities
- Seasonal events
- Resource pop-ups with campus partners
- Conversation activities
- Giveaways
- Free snacks and refreshments

Drop in for a few minutes or stay for the afternoon. Whether you would like to join an activity, chat with out student staff or campus partner, or simply spend some time in the space, participation is always flexible.
