Darren is a PhD student at the University of Victoria working with his supervisor, Dr. Chris Kennedy. His research is on energy system transitions, focusing on thermodynamic flows such as exergy in society.

He completed his bachelor’s in mechanical engineering at Dalhousie University. After that, he worked as a building system consultant, and he received his master’s in Industrial Ecology at the University of Victoria.

Outside of academia, he enjoys going on bike rides, reading, and travelling.
