Karine worked for the federal government as an environmental project officer for several years before deciding to pursue graduate studies at the University of Victoria in 2013. She is a PhD candidate in Environmental Studies working under the supervision of Dr. Robert Gifford. Her interdisciplinary approach combines environmental studies and environmental psychology. Her research interests gravitate towards pro-environmental behaviour changes and she is particularly interested in the role of habits, values, perceptions, and social norms on behaviour patterns.

Outside of research, Karine spends most of her time rock climbing and scuba diving.
