Esmaeil Izadi is a postdoctoral fellow and macromodeler at SESIT whose work bridges economic theory with energy modeling. His research focuses on agent-based modeling, energy economics, political economy, and network analysis.
His recent work at Environment and Climate Change Canada centers on integrated assessment modeling and scenario analysis for federal energy policies. He also has prior industry and policy experience in the mining and offshore sectors.
Esmaeil received his PhD in Economics from Simon Fraser University in 2025. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of New Mexico, a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Tehran, and a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology.
