Soroush received his Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering, with a focus on ceramic materials, from Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST). As a PhD student at the University of Victoria, he is working in Dr. Samira Gharehkhani’s research group (GRL). His research focuses on developing Lignin-based carbon materials for miniaturized energy storage devices such as microbatteries and microsupercapacitors (MSCs).

He enjoys turning coffee into research fuel and lignin into high-value carbon materials.
