Area of expertise
Heat, air, and moisture (HAM) modelling, hygrothermal simulations, building envelope moisture management, wood-frame construction, climate resiliency
Ben is a graduate student in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Victoria (UVic), specializing in heat, air, and moisture (HAM) transport within building envelopes. He completed his BEng in civil engineering at the University of Victoria in 2023.
Working under the supervision of Dr. Phalguni Mukhopadhyaya, Ben is focusing on hygrothermal modelling in wood-frame wall assemblies, assessing the impacts of rainwater leakage and projected future climate change scenarios on the resiliency and durability of wood-based materials in the building envelope.
