Marguerite Heyns has recently completed her degree in biology from UVic.  She has a passion for human rights and advocacy work. During her time at the University of Victoria she has facilitated and participated in a variety of community programs that promote inclusivity and social change. Specifically, Marguerite is interested in HIV/AIDS awareness, facilitating access to rights, creating inclusive spaces, and initiating constructive dialogue. Recently, she was involved in a collaborative student research group that focused on the affect of trans-migration on local communities and access to human rights in Papua, Indonesia. She is extremely excited to further develop her knowledge and understanding of migratory rights and the various intersections occupied by migrant workers in Bangladesh. 

Marguerite worked as a Program Assistant with the Refugee and Migratory Movements Research Unit (RMMRU) in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
