CITYNET Yokohama, Japan

Katt is in her final year completing an Honours BA in Pacific and Asian Studies with a minor in Business. She has had a longstanding interest in the Asia-Pacific region and speaks both Japanese and Korean. During the past four years she has volunteered and worked at Camosun and UVic as a cultural liaison to foreign students. Katt grew up in New York and is acutely aware of the social and cultural challenges brought about by urbanization. She is especially interested in how the local government, policy, land use and climate change awareness interact in the creation of safe and sustainable urban spaces. Katt is excited and grateful to CAPI and CITYNET for the opportunity to expand her knowledge and put her learning to use as a CITYNET program assistant in Yokohama, Japan this fall.
