May Orientation is UVic's official orientation event for all UVic students starting in May, including first-year, international, exchange, graduate, mature and transfer students. The program will introduce you to campus, academic expectations, support services and your fellow students. 

    • Meet other new students and begin developing friendships
    • Get tips for success inside and outside the classroom
    • Learn about campus resources and supports
    • Become a part of Vikes Nation


May Orientation will take place in-person on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 1:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. in the Upper Lounge of the Student Union Building



1:30 p.m. #ThisIsUVic Opening Celebration Join the entire incoming class at our opening ceremony to celebrate this major milestone-you're now a UVic student! You'll learn about the UVic community, participate in UVic traditions, meet Thunder and leave feeling like you're a part of Vikes Nation.
2:00 p.m. Student panel Come hear from current UVic students as they share their experiences, tips and wisdom. Bring any questions you might have for them! 
2:30 p.m. Speed Friending Participate in an interactive, small group meet & greet session to get to know your fellow new students. 
2:50 p.m. Campus tour Get to know the UVic campus with an in-person tour led by an upper-year UVic student. They'll help you get acquainted with campus buildings, introduce you to campus resources and share some of the tips and tricks they have learned as a UVic student. 
4:15 p.m. Social activities Spend some time getting to know your fellow new students while eating delicious food, playing games, creating art and more. 



May Orientation is for all new undergraduate and graduate first-year, transfer and exchange students. All students are encouraged to register as soon as possible.

Online registration has now closed. In-person registration will be available outside the Upper Lounge starting at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3.
