Registration & timetables
The Faculty of Law’s current registration guide, course timetables, schedules, exam schedules and preliminary course information summaries (PCIS) are available on SharePoint. Detailed program information on course planning and registration is in the Law Student Academic Handbook.
Registration for fall and spring term courses is in June. Summer term registration is in March.
Co-op
Combine the knowledge you’ve gained in the classroom with practical law co-op workplace experience.

Law exchange program
Participating in an exchange can enrich your learning experience as you study law at other universities for credit towards your UVic law degree. We have student exchange agreements with law schools around the world.
There is an information session each January for interested students.

Academic accommodation & concessions
Academic accommodation plans are managed by the UVic Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL).
The Guide to Academic Accommodation at the Faculty of Law clarifies how academic accommodation is administered in the Faculty of Law for students registered with CAL.

Amicus Program
The Amicus Program is a unique UVic Law student support initiative that plays an active role in engaging, advising and assisting students.
There are 4 overlapping components in the program:
- academic assistance
- student support
- counselling support
- academic accommodation and concession assistance

Appeal Law Journal
Appeal: Review of Current Law and Law Reform is a peer-reviewed journal run by UVic Law students. It features student articles, case comments and book reviews on Canadian and comparative law, and related social, political and philosophical issues.

The Law Careers Office
The LCO supports current UVic Law students and alumni as they plan their careers. We offer one-on-one career counselling, resume and cover letter review, mock interviews, lunchtime information sessions, networking events, job search support and guidance through formal recruitment processes.
All current students can access the LCO’s Official Careers, Events, and Advising Network (OCEAN), an online portal that provides access to job postings, event listings, a resource library and an online booking system for one-on-one appointments with our office.
Employers
Jobs posted by the LCO are shared with students through the OCEAN portal. Create an account or sign-in to OCEAN.
Alternatively, email us your student job postings as well as post-graduation postings to share via our alumni careers mailing list. Include:
