Future students

Are you interested in building your language proficiency in German, Russian, or Ukrainian? Do you like exploring new cultures? Have you considered studying or working abroad?

The Department of Germanic and Slavic Studies offers classes in German, Russian and Ukrainian as well as a wide array of courses in film, literature and cultural studies. We also encourage students to participate in study abroad and field schools as part of their undergraduate educational experience.

Please feel free to contact one of our advisors to find out more about our programs, watch videos about our undergraduate and graduate programs, or read about our students' adventures studying and working abroad

If you are on campus, we would like to meet you. Please stop by the main departmental office in Clearihue D243. While you are here, take a virtual tour of the UVic campus.

Applying to UVic

Visit Future undergraduates to learn everything you need to know about becoming a UVic student. We'll walk you through all of the application steps, from finding your admission requirements and submitting your application to reporting your grades and accepting an offer of admission.

If you've still got questions, we're here to help! Talk to a UVic recruiter or come to one of our recruiting events. You can visit us in Victoria (and we really hope you do), or find out when we'll be in your school or community.
