Currently, I am a lecturer in the Academic Technical Writing Program. In addition to teaching technical writing, I am interested in the history of medicine and representations of the body and bodily difference in 18th-century and Regency literature. My work in the long eighteenth century has led to various conference papers on Laurence Sterne, Jane Austen, the Culture of Sensibility, and 18th-century representations of disability and Sensibility in literature. My recent research focuses on the intersection of the Culture of Sensibility with representations of disability and difference in the late 18th-century and Regency literature of Frances Burney, Jane Austen, Maria Edgeworth, and Charlotte Dacre.
