Engineering Lab Wing (ELW) Boiler Room Renovation

ELW, OAU, CUN, PCH, ELL, MSB & BWC

Facilities Management and Aral Construction are currently working on the renovation of the boiler room on the north side of the ELW building. We will be relocating the back up air compressor as part of the project. This will impact compressed air supply to all the building sited above. We are circulating this notification to gather information from you on how you may be impacted and what your requirements will be as part of this work. We will be bringing a portable back up air compressor to campus to minimize any disruption. Currently that compressor does not include air drying capability. We are looking into if there is a portable option that can be brought in.

Below are proposed dates and durations for when the air compressor work may impact you. A few questions that we’d like your input on:

  • Will this work impact your programs and or research? If so, how?
  • Can your program go without compressed air for a window of 3 to 4 hours?
  • What would you require to allow this work to proceed?

It would be great to have your feedback by Friday March 10, end of day.

Thursday, April 6, 8:00am to 4:00pm – main air compressors will be down. Temporary air compressor will provide air during this time.

Monday, April 10, 8:00am to 4:00pm – main air compressors will be down. Temporary air compressor will provide air during this time.

Tuesday, April 11, 8:00am to 4:00pm – main air compressors will be down. Temporary air compressor will provide air during this time.

Wednesday, April 12 8:00am to 12:00pm – currently planning for no compressed air to be available as the main air compressors are brought back online.

We’ll be addressing all needs on a case by case basis.
