Dr. Tasker's doctoral research investigated the role of joint attention in the social/emotional development of deaf toddlers with hearing mothers. She is also interested in the relationship between self-esteem and perseverance in high-performing adolescent ballet dancers. Dr. Tasker also has a strong interest in compassion fatigue in the helping professions and what factors relate to its manifestation and amelioration. Dr. Tasker has also conducted research in how people cope with and make sense of major life events, transitions, and trauma including palliative diagnoses and brain injury.
