Michael Zastre

Michael Zastre is an associate teaching professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Victoria, where he has taught since 1996.
He holds a BSc from Simon Fraser University and both an MSc and PhD from UVic, with doctoral work focused on exception handling in programming languages.
His teaching spans introductory programming, computer organization, operating systems, software engineering and database systems. His scholarly interests include compilers, programming languages and computer networks, and he has published work on exception handling and computing education. He is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery and holds a limited engineering license with Engineers and Geoscientists of BC.
