About Miguel
Miguel Nacenta is an associate professor at the University of Victoria and a co-founder of the VIXI (Victoria Interactive eXperiences with Information) research group. He was previously a senior lecturer at the University of St Andrews, Scotland. His work has been featured in The New Scientist, Inc Co.Design, la Recherche and Wired.co.uk.
Miguel's research interests generally encompass representations and their use by people, machines and people-machine teams. This includes visual representations (visualization) and auditory and tactile representations (mostly for accessibility research). More specifically, he also carries out research on perception/psychophysics (e.g., perspective in graphics), input devices (digital interaction in room environments), and infotypography (graphical use of text to represent information, e.g., FatFonts).
