About Sean
Sean Chester is an assistant professor in computer science at the University of Victoria in Canada, where he is also cross-listed in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department.
His research specialises in data management on modern, highly parallel architectures, such as developing novel algorithms for graphics processing cards (GPUs). He has recently served on program committees for ICDE and DASFAA and reviewed for the VLDB Journal, TKDE, the Journal of Supercomputing and others.
Previously, he held a prestigious Marie-Skłodowska Curie fellowship from the European Research Council, which he tenured at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway. Prior to that, he was a postdoc at Aarhus University (Denmark) and a graduate student at the University of Victoria (Canada).
