First year program: Please refer to the University of Victoria Academic Calendar and the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science website for more information about the first year engineering standard and immersion year schedules.
Co-operative education: Similar to other University of Victoria Engineering programs, Biomedical Engineering academic terms will be offered in alternate terms interleaved with co-operative education terms after the first year.
Notes:
(1) There are two streams in Biomedical Engineering program flow: an electrical stream and a mechanical stream. Streams begin in term 3A, and where applicable, you must choose courses relevant to your stream. Consult the program planning worksheets (electrical stream or mechanical stream) or speak with a program advisor for schedule planning advice.
(2) Not all courses are offered every term. Refer to the UVic Academic Calendar to verify course scheduling information. Consult with a program advisor for schedule planning advice.
(3) Disclaimer: You are responsible for ensuring that all degree requirements have been satisfied as outlined in the UVic Academic Calendar. Any errors or omissions on this website do not absolve you from having to complete all of the program requirements. In the case of any discrepancy, the UVic Academic Calendar must be considered the definitive authority.

1 CSC 115 may be substituted in a term when CSC116 not offered. CSC 116 strongly recommended.
2 Not acceptable if student presents credit in ECE365 or ELEC365.
3 Not acceptable if student presents credit in ECE365 or ELEC365.
4 A Complementary Studies Elective course deals with central issues in humanities or social sciences. A current list of acceptable courses is available here. Students must seek approval of a complementary studies course in advance if the course is not on the approved complementary studies list, whether it is to be taken at UVic or elsewhere for transfer credit.
5 This course is offered every term. Students can take it during a work term if they have all the prerequisites.
