Across Canada: UVic Alumni Meetups

Join fellow UVic alumni for casual connections this fall from coast to coast! Whether you’re meeting new faces or reconnecting, these events are all about celebrating the UVic community wherever you are. All events are hosted by alumni volunteers! Registration links below.

Beach Clean-up with Surfrider Foundation

UVic alumni are invited to give back to the community by participating in a beach clean-up in partnership with Surfrider Foundation. Join us as we take care of our local beach with other community members, including the UVic Surfrider student club and Executive Director of Surfrider Foundation Canada, Lucas Harris, BA '11. This is a family friendly activity, feel free to invite kids and friends!

Leading on Climate: UVic's Global Responsibility
As a top-ranked climate university, UVic is driving bold research, ambitious goals and real-world solutions for a sustainable future. Join alumna Laura Lynch, host of CBC’s What on Earth, in conversation with Dr. Julia Baum, Special Advisor on Climate at UVic. Baum will explore how UVic is advancing climate action on campus, across Canada, and globally, and how alumni can be part of this critical work.

Where do we go from here? Oceans, climate and healing
Sarika Cullis-Suzuki, marine biologist and co-host of CBC’s The Nature of Things, offers a hopeful shift in her presentation. In a time of climate anxiety, she draws on Indigenous knowledge and frontline stories to highlight a path forward rooted in connection, community and living within nature’s limits.
