Nominate an alum

Help us celebrate the remarkable achievements of University of Victoria graduates. Nominate a friend, family member, colleague or former classmate for a Distinguished Alumni Award in 1 of 3 categories:

  • Presidents’ Alumni Awards
  • Indigenous Community Alumni Awards
  • Emerging Alumni Awards

Eligibility

  • to be eligible, your nominee must a hold degree, diploma or certificate from UVic (as conferred by the Senate), have completed 15 units of studies at Victoria College or graduated from Victoria Normal School
  • alumni who have only received an honorary degree from UVic are not eligible
  • current or recent members of the UVic Alumni Association Board (i.e., past 2 years) and members of their families are not eligible
  • members of public office are not eligible during their term
  • alumni who have previously received a Distinguished Alumni Award are not eligible
  • nominees for the Emerging Alumni Award must have graduated within 10 years of the nomination deadline

How to nominate

Submit a nomination form online for the 2024 Distinguished Alumni Awards by Friday, Oct. 13, 2023.

Each nomination submitted via the online form must include:

  • nominations for Distinguished Alumni Awards are accepted year-round
  • cut-off for consideration for the 2024 awards is Oct. 13, 2023

  • if you have previously shared an unsuccessful nomination, we encourage you to submit again
  • we strongly recommend you connect with nominees while compiling the nomination package, as they may be able to provide key information to support and strengthen the submission
