Configure Exchange: Eudora

Although University Systems has confirmed that this email client works with Exchange 2010, please be aware that Eudora is not a fully supported application. For a list of supported email clients, visit our key features of email clients page.  Eudora has not been tested with Exchange 2013.

  1. Open Eudora for Windows. If the Account Wizard starts, click Cancel to exit the wizard.
  2. From the Tools menu, select Options. The Options dialog box will open.
  3. Click the Getting Started icon under Category and enter the following information:
    • Real Name: Your name as you would like for it to appear when sending an email.
    • Email address: Your UVic email address (NetLink@uvic.ca).
    • Mail Server (Incoming): mail.uvic.ca.
    • User Name: Your NetLink ID.
    • SMTP Server (Outgoing): mail.uvic.ca.

      The box marked Allow authentication should be unchecked.



  4. Under category, click Checking Mail.
  5. Under Secure Sockets When Receiving, select Required, Alternate Port from the drop-down menu.



  6. Under Category, click on Incoming Mail and ensure IMAP is selected in the Server configuration area.



  7. Under Category, click on Sending Mail and select Required, Alternate Port from the drop-down menu.
  8. Ensure that the box marked Allow authentication is checked.



  9. Click OK to save your settings and begin using Eudora.
