Zheng Wu's primary research interests are in the field of demography, particularly the issue of changing patterns of family formation and dissolution, fertility and contraception. He is also interested in the areas of medical sociology and social gerontology.
His geographical areas of interests are Canada and Asian countries. Dr. Wu's research has been funded by SSHRC, CIHR, MSFHR, and other national and provincial funding agencies. He is Director of the Population Research Group at the University of Victoria, and is past President of Canadian Population Society.
