Breaking Through the Slow Walk: Climate Delay Discourses and the Politics of Closing the Implementation Gap

October 09, 2026

The department is proud to share that our very own Dr. Katya Rhodes, Associate Professor in the School of Public Administration, will be presenting an upcoming talk at the University of British Columbia on climate policy, political discourse, and the challenges of turning climate commitments into meaningful action.

Drawing on research from Canada, the United States, and Latin America, Dr. Rhodes will explore how "climate delay discourse" narratives erode policy support.

The presentation will also introduce a new SSHRC-funded research project that uses artificial intelligence, modelling, and public deliberation to map and counter climate misinformation.
