Lifespan stream
Lifespan psychology helps us understand how people change and grow. It also covers the factors that influence this process.
Courses in this stream cover the whole lifespan, from the prenatal period and infancy to adulthood and old age.
The study of lifespan development looks at age-related changes. It covers thinking, social behaviour, emotions and health habits. It explores the impact of family, peers, neighbourhoods, schools and culture on these changes.
Research in this area provides the base for understanding atypical development. It also helps with designing and evaluating effective prevention and intervention programs.
This stream provides opportunities for hands-on research and community partnerships. It covers lifespan researchers' methods and designs to study individual development.
