Computer Accommodation

Why do some students have an accommodation to use a computer in exams?

Barriers to seeing, writing, reading and organizing information typically are reduced through the use of assistive technology software and a computer.

Where can students access assistive technology software?

Students are responsible for booking their exams with assistive tech software with CAL.  CAL has dedicated computers with this software in the exam centre that students use. Access to these computers is controlled by exam centre staff and files used for exams are provided directly by invigilators.

Do CAL exam computers have access to network or internet resources?

No. Students would only have access to those in an exam if an instructor explicitly instructed CAL to provide them (i.e. for a CourseSpaces exam).
