Teaching assistants

As part of your graduate degree, you are expected to complete Teaching Assistantships. As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you are employed and working as a member of CUPE 4163, working under a supervisor (the professor or PI). As such, there are expectations set out and agreed to by you and your supervisor in accordance with the CUPE 4163 collective agreement. Please familiarize yourself with the following documents and other valuable resources.

Resources for TAs

There are plenty of resources for Teaching Assistants to browse, from learning tools to workshops, to general information that will come in handy as you complete your duties as a TA. 

All Teaching Assistants should familiarize themselves with the duties & responsibilities of TAs at UVic.  Those who are new to the role of a Teaching Assistant are encouraged to attend a TA welcome event, put on each semester by Learning and Teaching Innovation.
