Examining the Feasibility of an Online Intervention to Promote Physical Activity during COVID-19 Social Distancing Restrictions Study Poster

A study for those whose physical activity levels have been impacted by COVID-19 social distancing restrictions. This trial will include a 6-week program delivered via an online intervention to support an active lifestyle.

Who we are recruiting: Canadian adults over 18 who have recently started working from home due to the current COVID-19 situation and are not meeting Canadian physical activity guidelines (150 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per week). Promoting physical activity in recently retired and empty nest populations Study Poster

A study that aims to promote physical activity in recent retirees and empty nesters. Participants will receive a program specific to their demographic that will help motivate them to increase their physical activity pursuits.

Who we are recruiting: People who have recently retired or had their last child leave the family home within the last 6 months, and additionally who are not getting 150 minutes (2.5 hours) of moderate to vigorous exercise per week. Physical activity habit formation among parents and preschoolers Study Poster

A study that focusses on parents being active with preschoolers (children aged 3 to 5). Participants will receive a cash incentive after each assessment. Funded by the Canadian Cancer Society.

Who we are recruiting: At least one child between 3 and 5 years old who is getting less than 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per day AND at least one parent who will participate with their child. If you are interested please contact bml@uvic.ca for more information!

Habit formation for families to increase physical activity Study Poster

A study exploring different strategies to help increase physical activity for children ages 6 to 12 years. The study materials focus on helping parents find strategies which support their children's activity. Participants will receive a cash incentive after each assessment. Funded by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

Who we are recruiting: At least one child between 6 and 12 years old who is getting less than 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per day AND at least one parent who will participate with their child. If you are interested please contact bml@uvic.ca for more information!
