Join the CoNext Climate Preparedness Hub

May 13, 2026

The CoNext Climate Preparedness Hub is a free, 4-month training program that helps small, rural, and remote communities across British Columbia prepare for climate-related challenges like wildfires, flooding, and extreme heat. The program equips communities with the skills, tools and support needed to develop and implement effective climate adaptation strategies. CoNext is a 3-year project led by Heron Bridge Consulting and funded by Natural Resources Canada, with PCIC providing in-kind support as part of the project team.

In the first two years of the program, 26 communities from across BC participated, including First Nations, local governments, regional districts, and community organizations. The third year of CoNext, kicking off in Fall 2026, will build on this success and continue supporting communities in their climate preparedness journey. As part of the project team, PCIC helps communities learn how to use climate data alongside other forms of knowledge to better understand how the climate is changing and what those changes mean at the local level.

Communities are invited to review the Application Package, containing program details, session dates, and FAQs, and submit an Expression of Interest by May 31, 2026. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and spaces are limited. See below for more details.
