Biography

Markus Schnorbus is the lead of the Hydrologic Impacts theme. His work focuses on supporting the management of water resources by understanding the effects of climate change and climate variability on all aspects of the hydrologic cycle in British Columbia (BC) and the surrounding region. Markus’ expertise is in hydrologic modelling and data analysis and his recent work has led to improved understanding of climate change impacts on hydrologic extremes and infrastructure design, water temperature, reservoir management, and freshwater fish habitat. In addition to applied research, he actively engages in science communication and extension activities, ensuring that findings are accessible and applicable to policymakers and water resource managers. Prior to joining PCIC, Markus was a Hydrologic Modelling Scientist and Forecaster with the BC River Forecast Centre.
