Ali Ibrahim
Muslim Co-Chaplain
Multifaith Services

Hi, I am Ali Ibrahim from Somalia. I've been in Canada since 1992, becoming a Canadian Citizen in 1996. I worked as an HCA in Winnepeg for eight years, from 1992 to 2000, before moving to Victoria with my wife and four children in 2000.

I am currently a nurse at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. I have also been a volunteer with the BC Muslim Association Victoria Branch "Masjid Al-Iman" since my arrival in 2000. I now serve on the board of directors at the association, and have been for six years. Prior to this, I have held different positions in the association: including as sports coordinator, youth director, and as chaplain at the William Head Institution. It is an honour to be the Muslim Chaplain of Multifaith Services at the University of Victoria. I look forward to building a stronger relationship with MSA students here at UVic, continue to serve actively with the BC Muslim Association, and interact positively with members of all Faith Groups in and around the campus.
