In the know: Advice for International Students
End of Summer session: Maybe you are finishing up your UVic degree program. Maybe you plan to take a break from your studies at UVic. Or, maybe you will return home to finish your program after spending a few months studying at UVic. This article gives you some considerations and ideas to prepare for your next steps at the end of summer.
Post-Graduation Work Permit information session
Are you an international student? Are you about to complete your UVic program or have you recently completed your UVic program? Do you want to learn about eligibility criteria for obtaining a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) that allows you to work in Canada after graduation? Be sure to join our upcoming PGWP information session via Zoom on July 21. Registration is required.
Volunteer at the International Student Welcome Week
Do you want to help welcome new international students to UVic through our International Centre for Students Fall Orientation Programming? Are you available on Thursday, September 1st or between August 30th and September 9th at various times? Join our awesome team of volunteers at hikes, beach socials, bus tours, and more. WUSC (World University Services Canada) UVic is a student-run sponsorship program empowering UVic students to play an important and active role in the sponsorship of refugee students. This volunteer opportunity will allow you to create a welcoming environment for the new students while you gain valuable experience in community building, intercultural knowledge and professional communication skills! Call for Performers – International Student Welcome Event
The International Centre for Students is looking for performers to present at our International Student Welcome event on Thursday, September 1, 2022. We hope you’ll join us in making our event both engaging and entertaining while welcoming new international students and their families to UVic! Do you dance? Play an instrument? If so, we would love to have you, or your group, showcase your talent at our welcome event. To express your interest in this opportunity, please contact gcmentor@uvic.ca.
International Exchange Program
Have you ever considered studying abroad during your UVic degree? The International Centre for Students Exchange Program allows you to study at one of our many partner universities around the world for up to two terms, while gaining UVic credits and paying UVic tuition fees! Through this opportunity, you can immerse yourself in a new culture, develop or improve your skills in a second language, and make friends from all around the world. The steps to apply are simple, and our next application deadline is August 1, 2022. Where will you go?
