In The Know: Advice for International Students

Careful program planning is very important for international students because your enrolment status with UVic directly impacts your study permit validity, your work authorization as well as your post-graduation work permit eligibility. This article provides information you need to know in regards to academic enrolment status at UVic and resources for you to navigate your academic planning to maximize your international student experience in Canada.


Get tested UVic!

Regular sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing is important. Health Services is offering free and confidential STI testing for UVic students. No need to make a trip to the lab, just head to the Peterson Health Centre (lower parking lot 5) on campus. More information available here.

The UVic Global Community at Vikes Hockey Night

The UVic Global Community watched the Vikes Hockey Team win their first home game of the season on Friday, September, 27th! For many of the students, this was their first live hockey game and everyone truly enjoyed this Canadian cultural experience! Have a look at how the evening went here.


International Exchange to the University of Leeds

Did you know that you have opportunity to study at a prestigious Russel Group university in one of the UK’s most vibrant cities? The University of Leeds is one of the largest campuses in the UK and prides themselves on being a diverse and inclusive community. October 17th Exchange Social Hour

New exchange student at UVic? Recently returned from an exchange abroad? Ever considered the possibility of an exchange? Connect with current and former exchange students at our Halloween themed Social Hour on Thursday, October 17th. Drop by the UVC Welcome Centre anytime between 5:00-6:00pm to meet new people and join in some activities. This Social Hour is open to anyone!

Winter Abroad at Yonsei University

Would you be interested in experiencing a winter in Korea? Yonsei University offers a 5-week winter program at their Sinchon campus in Seoul. Winter Abroad at Yonsei is composed of both program-specific academic courses and  intensive Korean language and culture courses. This program also features weekend excursions and activities, providing students with the chance to embrace the Korean winter.
