The Global Community Newsletter is published biweekly by International Student Services and provides important dates and information, features opportunities for studying abroad, and highlights intercultural engagement, both locally and around the globe. 

Post-Graduation Work Permit Info Session

Are you an international student and would like to stay in Canada to work after graduation? You may be eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Join us for a PGWP information session in the UVC Welcome Centre on July 4th, from 3:15pm - 4:30pm to learn the basic requirements and tips to make a successful application. 

The Global Community’s Strength in our Diversity

On March 30th, several of the UVic Global Community Student Advisory Council members participated in The Inclusion Project. This project focused on a strategic dialogue about diversity, equity and inclusiveness. In David, Minjeong and Yamila’s article, they write about strength in diversity and how they are working together to bring more inclusion and equity in the world.


The Global Community goes Mini-Golfing

The UVic Global Community took a fun trip to Blenkinsop Valley Mini Golf on June 5th. Even though it was the first time mini-golfing for many, everyone putted around the 18-hole golf course with ease!

International Exchange to Deakin University

Int'l Exchange to Université Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris 3

Located in the heart of the Latin Quarter in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, the Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris 3 University offers high level multidisciplinary courses. A semester abroad here will enhance your openness, adaptability, professional skills and French language level. Spring in Utrecht, My UVic Life

“Since 1835, Utrecht has been home to a weekly flower market at Janskerkhof. Every Saturday, even in winter, people set up stalls selling everything from succulents to bouquets of roses to lemon trees”. In Moira’s article, she shares numerous photos of the beautiful flowers gracing the city of Utrecht in Spring.
