Hello! My name is Jess Sherman and I am the assistant to the executive director and office administrator for the Office of Indigenous Academic and Community Engagement. I provide internal and external administration, scheduling and communication support. I ensure efficiency for the executive director and the management team, as well as help with any student needs and events in the First Peoples House.

Biography

I was born and raised on the Semá:th and Stó:lo First Nations. When I was 18 years old, I moved to the Yellowknives Dene First Nations where I learned and loved for fives years. I am a recent graduate at UVic with a major in psychology and a minor in environmental studies. My ancestry is Metis, Scottish and Swedish. I have a fluffy kitty name Mochi, I enjoy art, yoga, cooking and I hope to build a life centered around community and connection to the land.
