Booking & rates

The Farquhar Auditorium is a professional 1200 soft-seat performance venue offering full technical, ticketing and front-of-house support. As a not-for-profit space, it operates on a cost-recovery model—covering all expenses, including university use, through rental fees and chargebacks.

Rental rates

Performance day rental rates include:  

  • 2 ticket centre staff up to 4 hours each
  • front of house staff up to 4 hours each (6 staff for main floor, 4 additional staff for balcony) 
  • 1 production staff up to 7.5 hours 

Ticket charges: 

  • include GST should be included in advertised price per ticket 
  • complimentary tickets requested by presenters charged on settlement

Non-performance day rental rate: $75/hour (4-hour minimum, not including labour) 

Commercial  

Commercial rates apply to presenters outside the non-profit or education categories. These rates are based on a flat rental fee—The Farquhar does not charge a percentage of ticket sales.

  • main floor & balcony: $4100 
  • $4.25/ticket 

Non-profit professional 

Available to local non-profit organizations that pay their artists and provide a Certificate of Incorporation under the BC Societies Act. 

  • main floor only: $2455 
  • main floor & balcony: $2925 
  • $4/ticket 

Non-profit amateur 

Available to local non-profit organizations that do not pay their artists and provide a Certificate of Incorporation under the BC Societies Act. 

  • main floor only: $2185 
  • main floor & balcony: $2630 
  • $3.75/ticket 

Education 

Available to registered public or private educational institutions located within the Capital Regional District. 

  • main floor only: $1860 
  • main floor & balcony: $2300 
  • $2.50/ticket 

UVic 

For events booked and organized by a UVic department and billed through the university’s internal accounting system. 

  • $500 administration fee/booking (staff and other expenses not included). 
  • $2.50/ticket

  • wireless mic transmitters (batteries): $5 each 
  • audio recording (per 4 hours): $20 each 
  • video stream and/or recording (per 3 hours/Camera) $200 each 
  • media feed or headphone distribution: $50/day 
  • additional chairs: $5/day 
  • small video projector: $50/day 
  • large video projector: $150/day 
  • additional janitorial (estimate): $45/hour 
  • mobile sound system: $200/day 
  • bottled water (house brand): $1.00 each 
  • photocopies: $.10 each 
  • outside equipment and services: invoiced amount plus 15% or invoiced amount plus $60/provider
