Becca Thomson expects to move to Vancouver by the end of the summer.

Becca Thomson is the 2021 winner of the Department of Computer Science Graduation Medal. She shares a few thoughts as she embarks on the next phase of her journey.

Thoughts about graduating: It hasn’t completely sunk in yet. I’m relieved to be done with my degree, nostalgic for the structure of school, and excited for what’s to come.

Favourite UVic experiences: I’m grateful for all the people I’ve met during my degree. My highlights include working at the Library, Peter Golz’s Vampire Studies class, fitness classes at CARSA, and procrastinating in the CSCU office.

Plans for the near future: Right now I work remotely as a UI developer at Jostle, an intranet provider in Vancouver that I worked for as a co-op student. At the end of the summer, when things hopefully start to open up, I’ll move to Vancouver with my sister.
