Biography

Jeff Smith, PhD Candidate, CCC (he/him) is a counselling therapist, music therapist,
educator, and researcher living on the unceded territory of the Lekwungen-speaking
peoples. His practice integrates music-as-therapy (improvisation, songwriting, and sound
recording) with radical youth work, narrative therapy, trauma-specific therapy, and antiviolence,
response-based approaches. Jeff has worked in addictions and harm reduction
with provincial and regional health authorities, in university student services, youth
addictions and mental health, and supporting the healing of survivors of residential school
violence and intergenerational colonialism.
