ABSTRACT:
Transmitted reference pulse cluster UWB (TRPC-UWB) is an excellent impulse based UWB scheme. It has attracted substantial interest from the academia and industry due to its robust performance, high data rate, enhanced reliability and low implementation complexity. To extend the functionality of the existing hardware testbed, a PC software platform is designed to control and monitor the UWB transmission on top of the hardware testbed. USB is used as the data interface between the testbed and host PC. Three typical applications have been implemented in the software platform including BER/PER testing, MPEG-4 video transmission and text message delivery. The use of the software platform helps the hardware designers debug the hardware board and evaluate the performance of end-to-end transmission over real UWB link.
