Abstract:
The BSENG program at the University of Victoria has been designed to prepare students for a successful career in the software industry and the information technology sector by teaching a breadth and a depth of knowledge of software engineering that combines theory and practice of Computer Science and Engineering. BSENG students will acquire communication skills and become proficient in engineering design, particularly as it applies to software development and software systems.
In this talk we will present the design and implementation of the BSENG program, compare BSENG to other undergraduate software engineering programs, and outline selected challenges ahead.
