ABSTRACT

Patterns are gaining popularity in hepermedia applications as well as software applications. The navigational structure of a Web application can be improved by using navigational design patterns and a generalized implementation of those patterns will increase the usability of those patterns. We are developing a component oriented approach for the reusable implementation of those patterns and building a framework using those patterns which will be reusable to describe the navigational stucture of Web Information System. This framework is being implemented as a collection of Java classes that can be easily parameterized or inherited in order to instantiate a given design pattern.
