ABSTRACT

Computing systems have become ubiquitous. There are limited examples of ubiquitous computing (UC), but they function only in very special environments. Ubiquitous computing promises to allow mobility, convenience, simpler computer interaction, and reduced effort for users interacting with computers. So far, this promise has fallen short. microSynergy is a project directed toward enabling the collaboration of controllers. microSynergy simple visual language allows unskilled users the ability to coordinate the communication among groups of controllers in a protocol independent fashion. This simplicity and flexibility will allow widespread acceptance of home automation.
