ABSTRACT

In this talk I'll describe the software engineering process used by the GNOME project (a desktop for Unix). This project is composed of several hundred programmers organized around the globe, and comprises more than 2 million lines of code. I will also talk about the tools they use, and how commercial interests influence the project development.
